Queen City Chorale opens their second season with Cecilia McDowall’s Everyday Wonders: The Girl from Aleppo and Joel Thompson’s The Seven Last Words of the Unarmed. The performance will also include works by Moira Smiley and Craig Hella Johnson. Featured will be Kirsten Weiss on solo violin and our talented friends from the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.
Winter Concert

Join the Queen City Chorale for their holiday concert! The centerpiece of this concert will be the choral masterwork: Benjamin Britten’s iconic A Ceremony of Carols. The work opens and closes with the choir processing to plainsong, and the sections in-between telling the traditional stories surrounding the birth of Christ. We will be joined by Kristin Gram, one of the finest harpists in our region. You can hear this work, along with other holiday gems and carols!
Spring Concert

Join us for the final concert of our second season: "Sleepers, Awake!" This performance will feature music spanning centuries – from the early Renaissance to the works of today. The cornerstone of this concert will be one of J.S. Bach’s most famous cantatas: Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme. Also included will be sacred works by composers including Victoria, Howells, Jennefelt, and others all accompanied by our collaborative organist, Zaheer Popo. Admission is free, but the choir will be accepting donations to help sustain their work. We hope to see you there!
